I hope everyone is doing well. Trying really hard to get back to normal here. Been absorbing as much as possible.
We're off to the Green Mountains of Vermont for my Sister-in-law's wedding. Sophie goes on her first road trip; and I am looking forward to cruising the land of brave and free.

Signs of unity everywhere. The pictures below are from a vigil in our neighborhood here in the Bronx. I could smell the electrical fire in the air way up here.

God bless the FDNY, NYPD along with the thousands of city workers, doctors, rescue teams, and volunteers. What would this situation be like without them? The horror they see is beyond comprehension. These people are true heroes. I am continually amazed by people like Mayor Rudy Giuliani and his team, as well as the citizens of New York.
I found out yesterday that one of my cousins is still missing. My thoughts and prayers are with the family and all those who are suffering and waiting.
Will life here ever be the same again. 11,000 body bags were ordered to Ground Zero. The television coverage is frightening. My friend, Matt's story, even more frightening. He worked at the WTC. He was late to work.

NYC
Two planes slam into WTC, towers collapse. Another aircraft crashes into Pentagon. United States under full terrorist alert.
All family and friends are doing alright. Thank you to those who were concerned. I want to take a moment to say how thankful we are that our great friend Matt is ok. He worked in Tower 2 of the WTC. I haven't heard from him yet, but at least I found out that he's safe.
So surreal. Watching it over and over would normally desensitize me in some strange way; but it doesn't. It just makes me more upset. I can't believe that all those people trapped in there. Those towers that I have looked at my whole life are now gone.
I am also worried that as the day turns into night, the city doesn't turn ugly. New Yorkers need to join together and help each other. That's what makes this city great:

Summer 2001 is coming to a close. An unusual summer. No beach, no swimming and no vacations. Instead, we got Sophie. Easy trade off. Besides, I am totally excited for the Fall, my favorite season.
